Segments

Updated Oct 27, 2026

Segments let you give different products within a collection their own order. Use them to place a selected set ahead of the collection's remaining products or to sort that set differently. Open Merchandising → Segments to create and manage reusable segments.

Choose a segment type

  • Single selects products with a saved Background filter, a manual selection or an uploaded list. Give the segment a sort order and a product limit.
  • Combination brings together saved Single segments. Choose whether their products appear one segment after another or take turns in batches. See Create a combination segment and Choose how combination segments take turns.

Add a saved segment to a collection's Segments section in Merchandising → View collections. The rows run in their displayed order: a product claimed by an earlier segment is not claimed again by a later one. Products not claimed by a segment follow All remaining products and the collection's fallback sort order. See Create a segment for the setup steps.

Collections also include built-in Push featured, Push up and Push down rows. Their settings are covered in Push products up and down. A product group serves a different purpose: it keeps selected products together as one block within the collection order.

Manage saved segments

The Segments list shows each segment's status, whether it combines other segments, where it is used and its last update. Search for a segment, open it to edit, or use Actions to delete it. You can switch a saved segment active or inactive; an inactive segment is not offered when adding one to a collection.
