Product groups

Updated Oct 27, 2026

A product group keeps a chosen set of products together in a collection. Place the group at its first matching product or at the top of the collection. Use one to place related products near each other, such as a jacket and matching trousers, while keeping the collection's wider sorting rule.

How groups work

Create a reusable group under Merchandising → Product groups, then add it to a collection in Merchandising → View collections → Product groups. The group has its own product selection, sort order, product limit and placement setting. You can choose products yourself or use a filter to select matching products. See Create a product group for the settings.

Only products already in that collection can appear in its group block. Adding a group changes their positions; it does not add products to the collection. If you assign several groups with overlapping products, the first group claims those products.

Product groups help you arrange related items together on a collection page. For ideas about which products pair well, review Analytics → Products → Related Products. The group does not create a separate upsell or cross-sell widget on a product page.

Manage groups

The Product groups list shows each group's status, composition, product count, where it is used and last update. Search for a group, open it to edit its settings, or use its Actions menu to delete it. You can also switch a group active or inactive. The page shows when your plan does not include product groups.
