Hide Out of Stock Push Down FAQ

Updated Nov 6, 2026

Why didn't a sold-out product hide?

Open Stock operations → Hide sold out and check the rule's status and execution type. A Manual rule runs only when you select Run now; a paused rule will not run on its schedule. Check that the product is in Targeting and meets the Hide threshold using the stock mode and locations you selected. If After a delay is on, stock must stay below the threshold for the chosen number of days. Then open Actions → View logs to see the latest run and any failed items. See Set hide and unhide conditions and Choose products for a hide sold out rule.

Why is a hidden product still visible on a sales channel?

Check the rule's Hide settings. Remove from changes publication only for the sales channels you selected; choosing Online Store alone does not remove the product from other channels. A Set status to action changes the product's Shopify status instead. Check the product's status and sales-channel publication in Shopify admin, then review Set hide and unhide conditions if you need a different action.

Why does the activity log show bundle products as Skipped?

Not every sales channel accepts bundle products. Shopify supports bundles on the Online Store, the Shop app, Shopify POS and custom storefronts, and on Google & YouTube for fixed bundles only. Channels such as TikTok refuse them. When a hide sold out rule includes a channel that refuses bundles, the rule skips that channel for bundles and still applies its other settings to them. The run shows the count, for example Unhide (5 skipped), and each bundle shows a grey Skipped badge; hover over it to see which channel refused it, for example Channel TikTok does not support bundle products. This is not an error and needs no action. Reinstalling the app does not change it.

If a bundle shows Failed with the same message instead, exclude bundles in the rule's Targeting or remove that channel from the rule. See Choose products for a hide sold out rule and the stock activity log.

Why didn't a restocked product become visible again?

Check that Unhide settings are on and that the product meets the Unhide threshold. Review From status and the chosen actions: setting the product to Active and putting it back on Online Store are separate choices. Match them to the actions the Hide settings used. If the rule is Manual or paused, run or resume it, then check its activity log.

Why did a product hide when only one variant sold out?

Check the rule's stock mode. Any variant can hide the whole product when one variant meets the threshold. All variants waits for every variant; Total inventory uses the product's combined stock. A variant filter selects the parent product for the rule to check—it does not restrict the stock condition to that one variant. See Set hide and unhide conditions and Choose products for a hide sold out rule.

Why did I get an "Import URL Redirect Summary" email from Shopify?

When one run of a hide sold out rule creates more than 100 redirects, we send them to Shopify as a single import, and Shopify emails the store owner a summary with the count. It's a confirmation, and you don't need to do anything. Runs that create 100 redirects or fewer don't send this email.

The limit applies to each run, not your store's total, so every run that creates more than 100 redirects sends its own email. A rule creates redirects only if it removes products from Online Store and has a Redirect set; changing product status alone never creates one. See Set hide and unhide conditions.

Why didn't Push down move a product?

In Stock operations → Push down, check that Push down is enabled and not paused for the collection. Open Actions → Configure to check the inventory threshold, scope, excluded tags and locations. Use Run now after changing settings to apply them immediately. If Collection Sort & Manage controls that collection's sorting, check its Push down segment instead. See Choose Push down conditions.

Does Push down change search results or other pages?

Push down changes the order within collections where it is enabled. It does not reorder Shopify search results. If you want a sold-out product removed from the storefront, use a Hide sold out rule with the appropriate visibility action.

Why didn't I receive a stock alert email?

Open the alert and check that it has an email address under Recipients. With no recipients, the alert uses the in-app bell only. Check its status, schedule, targeting and current matches; a Repeat alert can suppress an unchanged digest for the interval set under Repeat if unchanged. Use Actions → View logs to see whether the alert sent, had no send, or failed. See Create a low-stock alert and Manage stock alerts.

If you still need help, use the chat button in the corner or email help@ouiteo.com. Include the rule, collection or alert name and an example product so we can check the right run.
