Configure Shopify integration

Updated Oct 27, 2026

Open Integrations → Shopify to check which store data Ouiteo has synced and choose the products, collections, locations and product metafields it can use. If the Integrations list asks you to Re-authenticate, follow that prompt first to restore the Shopify connection.

Check the sync status

The Sync status panel shows whether store data is syncing, when it last synced and which types of data are included. Select Start Sync if your store has not started syncing. If a run fails, select Retry. Once ready, the page shows the last sync time; data sync runs hourly.

If the page says your store exceeds the sync limit, choose a product sync filter before starting. The limit and the number of matching products appear in the product selection panel.

Choose store data

Under Data selection, use the two tabs:

  • Product metafields — Select the metafields you want available in background data. Follow Use product metafields in filters for the steps and limits. A Live filter can read metafields without this selection.
  • Managed entities — Choose the entity type you want to configure: Product, Collection or Location. Each type has its own selection and Save button.

Choose products to sync

  1. Open Managed entities and choose Product under Entity type.
  2. Select the Product status values to include. Under Include out of stock, choose All or Exclude out-of-stock.
  3. Select Preview count. Check Products matching your filter against the limit shown on the page. If the count is over the limit, narrow the selection and preview again.
  4. Select Save.

This selection controls which products Ouiteo downloads and keeps in sync. It does not change product visibility in Shopify or your billing plan. If your store is over its sync limit, save a selection within the limit before selecting Start Sync.

Choose collections to manage

Select collections here when you want to use their membership in Background filters. For example, a filter can target products that belong to a selected Shopify collection. Ouiteo needs that collection in its synced data to evaluate the condition.

  1. Under Managed entities, choose Collection.
  2. Search Shopify collections by name. Select the collections you want to use in Background filters; the selected collections appear below the picker.
  3. Check the selection and select Save. If you have reached the maximum shown by the page, remove a collection before adding another.

After the collection data syncs, you can choose those collections in a Background filter. Selecting a collection here does not change the collection or its product order in Shopify.

Choose inventory locations

  1. Under Managed entities, choose Location.
  2. By default, Ouiteo includes all locations. Search and select specific locations when you want background filters to use stock from only those locations.
  3. Open Advanced inventory options if you want to change how stock is counted. Use on-hand inventory instead of available applies across Ouiteo apps, including background filters, hide and unhide rules, sorting and alerts.
  4. Select Save. Review the selected locations before saving: when on-hand inventory is used, stock at locations outside the selection is not synced for those counts.

Allow the sync to finish before using newly selected data in filters, collections or sorting.
